Brain State technology (HIRREM)

http://www.brainstatetech.com/

I would so much like to experience this. It's what Alex said he had done but to my knowledge never really told us how (or was I just so out of it that that was just my impression..).

(Sorry to jump in here but important to say: I have never heard of these people or used any of their technology, so have no idea where you got that impression? -AR)  :  ) Once more an example of my ignorant oblivion, sorry. "It" referred to playing back brainwaves recorded from a brain.

I've seen many people on several forums telling how effective this was (talk of major changes within a few days). The cost is pretty huge, 1700 euros, which is not that much if it's worth it but still someone should open source this type of thing.

Myself I got the idea of experimenting with combining NFB and Samyama. Should be interesting. Will report if I find out anything.

Re: Brain State technology (HIRREM)

Re: Brainstate tech:
I didn't find any info on their site that convinces me they are using anything other than simple 'Proteus/ThoughtStream' type tech or CES with new fancy names. Exactly the same claims are made for CES and you can program the Proteus to record your own brainwaves and design programs to suit you personally. These folk are almost certainly ripoff merchants and you could achieve the same tech/treatment for less than $300 plus you them own the machines.

All the bad signs are here dude, anyone pushing products or services without technical info of exactly what you are getting and how it works, forget them.
Best,
AR

You can find specific information here. The feedback from your brain is directed based on the EEG patterns of buddhist monks, in a way that does not use the usual operant conditioning principle? It is much like Roshi+ but with sound, FWIW.

Sorry dude this is another site selling stuff, and time restrictions now don't allow me to follow up those any more. (Everybody else, please take note!)

Can you point me to scientific sources that are not commercial?

I also have never managed to find out what a Roshi is or what it's supposed to do, but I have witnessed the behavior of some who use them and that's definitely put me off trying one out. If you want to see the merits of a technology or drug, look at a selection of people who use it. Is their behavior improving?

Best,
AR

Re: Brain State technology (HIRREM)

I can't giver pointers. It just said something about the signals being fed back dynamically and not linearly like in regular NFB.
