dealema!

Hi All!
I'm having a dealema, appreciate some help.
After mediating a lot I find myself with lack of concentration for normal things,
normal things meaning task related to the world, such as taking my driving lessons,
I know meditation improves concentratrions, but also gives the felling that I would do not want to belong to the world !
perhapse it opens your mind so much that functioning in the world becomes a very hard task.

I do not see the point in having driving license if i live in certain country's,where transportation is great,  but in other side i can see the freedom, that having a driving license would give me, but i don't feel motivated at all to do it.

Hi dude,
Assuming you mean 'dilemma'...
A couple of things:

First, 'meditating a lot' and 'finding yourself with lack of concentration for normal things' may just be a correlation; not cause and effect. Something else may be causing both a desire to meditate a lot AND a lack of concentration for normal things, or there may not be any kind of causal connection at all.

Second, you can obviously see both some benefits of driving licenses and hazards associated with them. Maybe if you write down all the benefits you can think of, and all the hazards you can think of, you'll be able to see why your mind is computing the outcome of low motivation. Maybe it realizes something that you haven't yet consciously realized?

If something seems consciously mainly beneficial, but we're not inspired to go do it, there's often a little bit we've forgotten that is tipping the balance. It might be an external detail like weather conditions or time of year, or it may be something physiological like current energy/time requirements, or intellectual like Carbon footprint consideration.

Listing benefits & hazards is a good way of finding these out. Once you start to write them down it's surprising how many you can think of.

One other possibility is sometimes there's some unconscious reason we don't want to do something and we're looking for a conscious excuse not to do it. In this case, 'feels wrong somehow' may be listed amongst 'hazards'.

yes, unconconscious reasons, is mostly that drains my motivation.

I think the only away is to go for a residential course, be there for 1 month, take the driving lessons and came back.

...well, that would depend on what the unconscious reasons ARE, and whether or not you wish to take them seriously. Usually if something 'feels wrong' to us it's wise to proceed very cautiously.

It could just be some unconscious anxiety, but it's difficult to tell sometimes where caution ends and anxiety begins.
