TMS design and construction

Hey All!

I recently purchased a new EEG monitoring helmet from Openbci.com and I'm ready to try some new experiments.

Of particular interest is having direct cerebellar experiences and more generally using TMS to variously inhibit and excite parts of my brain. That said, I need some instruction on safe construction and use of a TMS.

I know that this link was posted for exactly this information: http://www.entelechy.info/ Sadly, the page is no longer up and I've been unable to find anything I trust as much as the folks in the NHA.

So...I'd love your input and direction on how to construct my own TMS device- be that a tesla coil, a God Helmet or whatever else you think would be best to deliver interesting results.

Thanks!!

D

Re: TMS design and construction

Yo dude,

http://open-rtms.sourceforge.net/
or

enjoy  :  )

Do note though that stuff like the 'god helmet, Shakti etc are not TMS; they are NMS. If you're looking for NMS, that's a different matter and these links won't help.

Don't forget the soundproofing or you're really gonna upset the neighbors with TMS

Best,
AR

Re: TMS design and construction

Alex - thank you!

Deeply grateful for your input. Any suggestions on which of those three you think is best?

More importantly, given that my goal is to integrate new physical skills quickly and completely, what approach or approaches would you recommend?  I've had tremendous success with psychedelics in the past, but it's quite a bit of work (8 hours) for a result that seems like it could be done more simply.

Thanks!

Re: TMS design and construction

hi dude,
Re: to integrate new physical skills quickly and completely

1 Short bouts of practice, often
2 Visualization of practice, brief and often
3 Some people have success with NMS. We have a spare kit if you want to borrow*
4 Watching videos of someone else doing the skills and imagining doing them
5 Get accuracy first, speed comes later
6 Playing music or working to music helps some with integrating other physical skills

(*but don't put the address to send it in this public forum)  :  )

Best,
AR

Re: TMS design and construction

Um...<heart eyes emoji>!

Alex - I would be completely thrilled to borrow your kit. I'll contact you off forum.

As for the rest - doing them all.

I've found some martial artists who have a principle-based art. No moves to memorize. Instead, it's about developing a few core fundamental skills. It is by far the best system I've experienced to train fundamental well-formed movement into Net 2.

Don't get me wrong, I love yoga, and somatics, and any other number of approaches, but I've never met a group of people more balanced, sensitive, pliable, and completely unified at the physical level.

The issue is - it's like magic. I'm not unaware of my body and their level of self use is beyond anything I've ever experienced. I have wonderful teachers. They have transformed the way I've used myself already, but I know that where I'm going is deeper than movement imprints I took when I was a toddler and have practiced ever since.

Anyway, that's what I'm hacking into. I already meditate (not on your list, but one of the ways I integrate new movement patterns most effectively) and now I want to add some new, powerful approaches to faster, more complete learning and integration. Very excited.

Thanks!

~D
