Newcomers Questions - Site Related

Dear newly arrived dudes,

at the "Bay", you're welcome to ask questions a bit where you want. But if you have questions about the site itself, this sticky post is here to allow you to ask them by replying to it, so that they're all gathered in a same place.

So, come on, don't be shy dudes... smile

Re: Newcomers Questions - Site Related

Here's an actual question:  Is there anywhere here that we can insta chat?  Or I guess that is the whole point of hte forum.  You know what I mean though, right?

------------------

I might have just answered my own question, but now this creates a new one.  Where is the PMS accessed?

Johnny...? Are you alright...? You sound pretty weird actually...

For PMS look at the menu bar, next to 'users', you should see a drop-down menu with 'compose', 'inbox' and 'sent' options.

(don't worry if you got the impression one of your posts have disappeared, I tried to use a certain tool which didn't work as expected; I gathered your 2 posts into one).

Hey Scal,
Just wondering, could you possibly activate the round button in the Forum Topics main page.  They are just begging to be pressed and it would give an easier target for my little pointer finger smile

Hi dude, well, I've roamed through all the settings, I can't find anything nearly approaching such a possibility (and the forum component is in the latest version available).

Grow some nails...? smile

Re: Newcomers Questions - Site Related

Scal, all the new updates in the site, should/are visualized in the "Lastest Articles" section? or they are only for the library section? I ask this because i think the 10 articles right now are from "library" if i'm right, but maybe is just a casuality.

If it covers all the updates of all the sections of the site (probable not the "news") is nice, the other way we should getting inside every section (except library) to see if something new is updated/upload.

I make me clear? hope so.

Thanks

Re: Newcomers Questions - Site Related

Hi dude,

okay, let's summarize... In terms of sections intended to receive articles additions (inside their different categories), we got: News / Neurohacking(Library) / Workshop / Homeworld.

All these sections are concerned by the 'Latest Articles' list, except for a few categories of the workshop (those used as collections for big pieces of work like ICMM or BTPT), in order not to pollute the 'Latest Articles' list.

Besides, the list is also dynamic relatively to your membership, and whether or not you're logged in. For example, certain classified files might be restricted to registered members only, so they won't appear in the 'Latest Articles' if you're not logged in, even if they are the very latest ones.

But you don't need to worry 'cause important material update will be announced by a short notice on the front page (like the "3,2,1,0.. Ignition" thing).

Cheers!

Lol, 5 hours of "nonstop" reading ! I enjoyed it =)

Love how you explained all the embarassor topic (maybe  got the benefit of a decent N3!) and the "shortcutting" analogy of input control from all the networks.

Time to go bed! and defrag all this LOL.
