There is no security, anything will be handed over to the government/advertisers and also no pseudonyms. Yet people still join holocaust denial groups/ discuss very personal aspects of their lives/ ask others to sell them drugs. Among my peers it has almost entirely replaced emails, which is worrying. And there is little on facebook which cannot be done just as well in any other medium. Worst of all people can now show you their holiday snaps from any computer in the world...

I thought that one good thing about it is that one of the owners (Peter Thiel) gave millions to anti-aging research amoung other things. Although its less impressive giving millions when you are a billionaire... Still, maybe the other owners are assholes.

Thanks, its a bent Sierpinski triangle. It's actually a fairly basic fractal as they go, and fractals look far better at high resolution. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sierpinski_triangle

(or maybe subconsciously I think I'm a Klingon) Also what's the file upload size limit? I tried to upload a higher resolution version of my avatar, but it resulted in an error.

I believe he's off partying or similar, so we will have to await his return. If a low resolution really troubles you, we could sing Samurai war songs while we wait, to keep our spirits up? But if your fractal is in fact infinitely regressive I believe you can only upload it via Hilbert's Modem? I tried one which was ~400kB, which caused an error message.

Best, AR Hilbert's Modem is only useful if you want to upload images that exist in what we mathematicians term 'a silly number of dimensions'. However this doesn't help unless the person viewing it also has a Hilbert monitor... So what good samurai war songs do you know?
