A – Interactional. The program enables us to look at our life situations in terms of our interactions, and use that overview to apply the decision-making skills that lead to success. By analysis of our interactions we can employ behaviors to increase our success in different kinds of situations (business, health, relationships etc). |

The recent discovery of the brain's plasticity has shown us that the mind is trained, and 'wired', through habit, and all that these tutorials do is enable you to practise the habits that improve your brain and avoid the habits that depreciate it.
The quality of your brain affects your intelligence, which means as your brain gets fitter, you get smarter. You'll find it easier to think quickly and accurately, because mental 'fitness' (or 'muscular-mindedness') trains up the cognitive mind and memory to see the best options for success in any situation clearly and quickly, instead of having to either blindly follow and do whatever it is told, or take hurried, unprepared decisions that lead to failure.
Training your brain like this has two kinds of effect; one physical, one mental.
- This is what will happen to you physically: Your brain literally grows new connections when you do the exercises regularly; and this in itself helps slow down the effects of any cell loss with ageing, preventing memory loss and dementia [the brain shrinks as we get older if it is unfit, just like muscles do.] Because the brain controls the body, as you train up the mind you'll get more dextrous and have a better response speed. The brain also affects your immune system and the stronger it gets, the more resistance you will have against physical disease.
- This is what will happen to you mentally: A healthy brain is a well-balanced brain, and that means a well-balanced mind. The brain controls hormones, so brain health is also a powerful preventive against depression, anxiety, mood swings and chronic stress-related disorders. Your perception will sharpen. You'll become more emotionally stable, your memory, attention and observation skills will improve, as will your creativity and intellect. You'll gain abilities such as heightened empathy and strategy skills. You'll experience higher confidence and self esteem, and become more adept at communication and planning. You'll be able to relax when you want to and have the energy for interaction when you need it.

A –It sounds like you have chronic anxiety. It's a sort of anxiety that doesn't cause panic attacks or obvious disorders, and it's probably not conscious. Most people's minds are pretty unfit. When the mind isn't trained up it stumbles along, trying to cope with things from moment to moment, and it worries. Everyone is different, and we respond to this anxiety in different ways. Some people get low in confidence and self esteem, are distracted easily and hence forgetful, some feel constantly fatigued and worn down by anxiety about the unknown and unexpected, and often that they cannot cope or cannot be bothered; things are just too confusing, so what's the point?
You can address this problem with Intal techniques to get your brain back into a healthy, energetic state that can cope competently. |

A –You are not alone! Many people suffer embarrassment, misunderstanding and injustice from others; they are vulnerable to possessiveness, psychological tricks, threats, bullying and emotional blackmail, or even physical violence. Some fall into a set of habits that they think cannot be broken, get stuck in ruts unable to progress, and become hopeless of change. But you don't need to stay stuck. Intal will help you to develop skills that prevent unhealthy relationships developing in the first place, and show you how to interact to change a current relationship with minimal distress. |

The people compiling this site do so voluntarily in the interests of intelligence augmentation and the people who practise it everywhere. Please read the Neurohackers Community presentation page for more information about our group (click here).
If you'd like to interact on the forum, consider using nicknames for your registration, as we're likely to discuss sensitive matters, sometimes... |

Just as there are physical habits that improve different parts or all of our bodies (such as diet and physical exercises), so there are mental habits that improve the performance of different parts of our brains.
The series of exercises in the tutorials is organized so that you can train up the whole brain, or just the parts you wish to concentrate on (for example, just memory). You probably know that the brain is made up of a series of neural 'networks'. The exercises teach us how to use all the main brain networks necessary for intelligence both individually and together. If you go for it in a mature yet light-hearted spirit, neurohacking is a fun, challenging, indoor mental workout with no heavy lifting. There is almost no physical effort involved in training the brain.
There is no time schedule you have to adhere to either, because some people have less spare time than others, but remember that the more regularly you practise, the better will be your results. It can become a little like a martial art; and we have come to think if n-hacking as a way of life, rather than a hobby or an amusement. To make a noticeable difference, it should take you no more than a month to explore each tutorial. [If you consult theory throughout it will obviously take you longer.]

If you read through the program like a book straight through from beginning to end, you won't learn very much. If you do the exercises as you go along, you will be able to do things sometimes before you know why they work (You may not be interested in finding out why they work, and not bother reading any 'Theory' files, or you may prefer to have as much information as possible before beginning.) You can do this program any way you want to, but we suggest you will gain most benefit from working through the practical exercises and assessments as suggested, and consulting theoretical information whenever you feel you need it.

Q – I have a high IQ but I've had various failures due to bad luck. Can increasing intelligence affect how lucky we are?
A - IQ is not intelligence; it is one small part of intelligence. If you don't have the other skills, IQ alone won't help you to control or direct your life.
A lot of what we thought was 'bad luck' is often due to bad planning, bad decisions, and bad judgments! A smart personal strategy for life, or 'personal autonomy', is something all successful people have in common, and this is an ability based on certain habits of mind that can be learned.
This doesn't mean that all successful people have 'better luck'. These habits of thought can be used by anyone; successful people are just the ones who figured out these strategies for themselves early on or were taught them by others. When "shit happens" –as it does to us all at some point- we know how to cope better and achieve better outcomes. Importantly, we learn how to plan better, be prepared for various outcomes, and how to adapt to sudden changes, strategizing for improvement regardless of external factors. |
