If you want to learn how to program computers nowadays, this is the place for you to start with. Today's tools have reached a consistent maturity, and it's quite easy to "have fun" if you put your hands on some of them. Sure, you're not going to become a C++ wizard in a fortnight, but script languages are getting better and better, and things like PHP (which is the language used to make this website work) or even 'Action Script' in Flash, are really interesting languages.
