Re: Intelligence spreading...

Hi,
Re:

I did read this, but found it sad. These dudes 'got the result they wanted', which apparently was making unstable people angry and getting them to throw furniture around. I don't see how that's a particularly smart thing to do, it sounds like an action/reaction to me?

This one however:
http://www.independentdeveloper.com/arc … e-a-dream/

really made me laugh, thanks  :  )  This is also common among graphic designers and researchers and people who 'zone' in general (as all those know who've ever jumped in surprise to find someone standing beside them, it's a real startle response.) The noises most often uttered are "Waah!?" or "SHHHH!!"  LOL  :  )

Living with a group of such people, we've found that paper notes are great. You write 'WHEN YOU HAVE TIME'  at the top of a page in big letters, and explain what you want in words, then leave the paper in the peripheral vision of those working. When they surface for tea or the bathroom or whatever, they notice it. Notes stuck on the kettle work well too...

If you're the one working, "Do not disturb" signs are your best friend. Can be stuck on monitors, desks and the back of your hat!
Best,
AR

Re: Intelligence spreading...

hi dude,

thing is, about the first one, after a first angry reaction, I guess the final outcome of it all was that the "bullies" got bored and stopped hassling people with pink shirts... I guess...

and the one about the dreaming-like state of computer programmers when they're programming, it's very true there is something of that order, and that's the fundamental reason behind me doing this, without the least shadow of a doubt smile

PS sorry I forgot! Re: bullies... they tend to pick on something else, such as being a fat kid. If everyone comes to school in fat suits, they'll pick on thin kids...for as long as they're dysfunctional and frantically projecting their own fears and quelling their own anxiety, how can it stop?

Young violent people just become older violent people. They don't just 'get better', unless the anxiety is dealt with. That sound pessimistic, and I'm anti-pessimistic but sometimes pushed into being realistic. I guess the optimistic side of it is some DO want to get out.

Re: Intelligence spreading...

In conversing with people as to the nature of intelligence as defined hear I've run into some confusion. Specifically, there is a popular thought that intelligence and intellect are more or less synonymous and regarding merely ones ability to learn.  For the purpose of understanding what term could be used to described the integration of all aspects of intelligence as we regard it that would be easily comprehended by academia?

Re: Intelligence spreading...

Hi dude,

It's only just starting to be recognized; the mainstream is using terms such as fluid intelligence, multiple intelligence and general intelligence, or even, clumsily, 'intelligences'. But in this area the mainstream is still sadly lagging, funded as it is by TE lords whose greatest fear is admitting that something other than IQ (ie, intellect) might exist.

“Intelligence is not IQ” is a good starter, but again that's down to the individual's ability to see that anything else exists.

You're welcome to use the basics part of the library or give people the site URL if they want info, but I wouldn't recommend discussing intelligence with most people; only those who are genuinely interested, who are well balanced and anxiety-free or at least anxiety-aware. Otherwise we're preaching, and that makes people anxious.
Best,
AR

Re: Intelligence spreading...

The thing is, that a possiblity is that frontloaders get anxious when they hear "intelligence is not IQ", because they could interpret that is "irrelevant" or not neccesary, so we must clarify further and say .. BUT is a part of intelligence anyways .. i mean, a full developed brain must have all the others attributes of intelligence AND a high IQ too, whatever high means i don't know.

So .. "Intelligence is not only IQ" or "IQ is only a part of intelligence", could be better to say =)
