Ave Uncuncius! Those about to enter the phase, salute you!

Yo guys

I'm excited to tell you about the situation with the phenomena on topic. For a long time these were undiscovered and speculated on a lot. Only few books would actually tell you what to do and all of them would suppress you with the philosophy (Castaneda, Laberge for a large part). But now there's guy who tells no bullshit, only actually working techniques.

He discovered a way to enter the "lucid" state (he calls it the "phase") and even developed the whole set of methods for entering this state, deepening it and maintaining it.
His book (http://aing.ru/files/sobt.zip ) is in two parts, the first contains techniques, the second personal experiences.

The only drawback is that the guy is Russian and the books are free, so his English isn't very good, but the explanations are generally intelligible. It's ironic that I've read the first book entirely in English believing that the author is an immigrant.
Give it a try smile

Hi dudes,

Well, well, well... Interesting... smile

Actually, after having read both books, I decided to go for the indirect techniques's method, so as he explained you should begin by testing each indirect technique you intend to use at least 3 times (one time per day), 2 to 10 minutes when going to sleep, before you can make an informed choice about the 3 or 4 ones you're going to implement in the indirect techniques method (choosing the most efficient ones).

So it's been a few days I've begun doing this, starting with the 'observing images' technique. I experienced a few crispy sensations but nothing major; though I could feel some "progression" along my three attempts of this technique.

One important point is that, doing these as 'testing exercices', I don't actually seek to set the intention of entering the phase while doing them. However, I generally said to myself "well, just in case I would enter unwillingly, my first destination will be ...".

And it stands in 2 words: Earth's orbit.

Yesterday evening, I was switching to the 'listening in' technique, and maybe due to the fatigue of the day, I wasn't as "clear-cut" as usual in this "just in case" intention. The fact is, I didn't hear that much actually, I had the impression of hearing a couple of indistinct buzzing sounds but rather faintly, and being tired I was dangerously slipping into sleep... And then it happened.

So, let me try to describe the sensation properly. I think what happened corresponds more or less to what he describes as the 'levitating' technique, as my ... "phantom body" (let's call it like that, in reference to phantom limbs, cause I'd say it's most certainly very close to be the same kind of sensation/phenomenon, basically) so my phantom body began to rise, although in a most peculiar way. My phantom feet went up first and the rest of my phantomn body followed, except my phantom head which was sticking inside the usual one [like... "well, I'm fine right here dudes, where do you wanna go like that? I'm not even made up..." smile].

Technically, I was in a state of mind similar to the dream state, but with a full awareness of where I was (in my bed), of what I was doing, and of the position of my phantom body, which was in an inverted vertical position, leaning against the wall at the head of my bed... smile

Then, I got back to my physical body, happy, and definitely convinced of the power at hand... (didn't think of attempring a separation technique anyway)

So, yeah... "what to do with such a thing?" is the question, and I got some ideas...

M'yeah, groovy...

In lucid dreaming, does anyone get 'hypnagogic imagery' like geometric patterns very vivid on N3's screen?
Also, are you aware that you can get OBE (out of body experiences) via TMS or various virtual reality sensorimotor hacks? Doing such exercises might improve ability or coherence in lucid dreaming experiences?

Hi dudes,

little report, nothing major for now (have been distracted / tired / etc...). But still went for exercicing indirect techniques, mostly 'observing images' and 'listening in'. Actually, I once heard - quite clearly, as if pronounced from the center of my room or the room next to it, my (official) first name. It was a female voice definitely; I think, someone I know (no shit...?) but couldn't put a name on it.
Anothe time, I clearly saw something (and I'm pretty sure it was in the Phase); as I physically was lying on my bed, so typically, in my bedroom, right...? and I was seeing 2 cats, one laid down on my DSL modem, and the other on the above shelf, seeking a way off by aiming at the top of my guitar amp, ready to jump. Although this scene was seen as if I was sitting on my couch in the living room.

For now, this is not "vivid" as explained, but it's mainly because I'm just doing preparatory exercices, and I haven't clearly entered the Phase for now.

Well, I'm not sure what you mean by 'hypnagogic', but I also had some "vision" behind my eyelids, of something which looked like a mix between a mandala, a Kapersky square, and some kind of labyrinth, but it didn't last very long, and if there were colors (mostly reddish/pinkish and greenish/blueish), it wasn't vivid either.

Btw, where are we on that front, technically? Is the 'out of body' sensation explained by something close to the phantom limb phenomenon (I mean, same region of brain concerned) + some kind of interaction with the angular gyrus involved, since it handles the position of body in space)?

On and on...

well, actually, this: "sensory features of hypnagogia are phosphenes which can manifest as seemingly random speckles, lines or geometrical patterns, including form constants, or as figurative (representational) images. They may be monochromatic or richly colored, still or moving,"

appears as soon as I close my eyes... smile There's always colored blobs moving all around... wait, let me check a sec. ... ... well, I might need a few seconds to see them. But as they say later on, there's no narrative aspect to those. And I don't see tunnels that way, nor see them as 3d objects.

All mine is 2D.
I used to get loads of it when I was little, often by accident. These days I cultivate it because I like the show  :  )
Mine are usually like (for those old enought to remember) that game Galaxians; geometric shapes that roughly resemble objects or furniture. They move (usually scrolling down or sideways. Smaller ones look like jewelry. I think they may be a peek into N3s graphics in real time.
